Although Paul James understands the basic concept of the lead generation business, he makes few critical mistakes on the approach and strategy of this business. Specifically, when it comes to niche selection and website optimization.

Look, I've been building local lead gen business since 2014 and I've been building a monstrous global blog ippei.com since 2017. I went through many trials and tribulations with every Google core algorithm update to truly understand how the search engine works on an intimate level.

Paul James has been mainly focused on making YouTube videos, so it is understandable that his approach is to go into the smallest market possible, so he doesn't have to compete in the search engine. However, the problem when you go into markets too small is that you will not generate many leads. Many of these sites will become empty vessels. Very difficult to close clients when your site is only trickling in leads.

This is what separates people that will truly flourish in this lead generation business versus those that will struggle. At the end of the day, you have to become high level at ranking web properties in the Google search engine and this takes more skill than most online business models.
