Nick Wood & James Kuck - Rank & Rent (Digital Real Estate) | Ippei Reacts (& Critiques)

Nick Wood learned Rank & Rent from our coaching program. Today he's promoting this concept of pre-selling lead gen sites, which is something that we've been teaching our students even before Nick Wood joined our do agree that it's a great way to find hungry clients and get money coming in if you're too broke to build your own assets, but if you focus too much on sales and not enough on your skills in ranking the site.

You end up building an AdWords agency instead of an actual local lead gen / rank & rent business.

This is why I felt the need to speak up against the weakness of this super "sales-centric" approach to building the rank & rent business.

When I talk about my story of getting up to $15k per month, I did it with actually building & ranking sites that I rented out after it was already generating FREE traffic. So this $15K isn't going anywhere, it's not the same as closing business owners up front and you're running AdWords to keep them happy.

Ranking sites takes time, there's no way around it, but it's what makes us irreplaceable to clients.

This idea you can "build this business faster" by simply pre-selling lead gen site is not fully accurate, because you still need to rank the web properties, for these clients to truly stick with you long-term. Eventually you're going to have to deal with the "time" to build & rank the sites.

Sometimes being so "sales heavy" can get you in trouble, because it can get you into a market & niche that you probably shouldn't have gone into, but you just gone into it because you closed a client.

I don't do that. I carefully select the right market & niche to go into, based on critically analyzing how much resources & time it will take for me to rank at #1 in Google for that market.

Meaning I'm focused on the most important aspect of the Rank & Rent business model which is your ability to rank as many web properties on the first page of Google as possible.

NOT your ability to close deals up front.

When you become too sales focused, it can actually stifle your growth because you inevitably start getting less than ideal clients, doing subpar service so now you're losing clients, you end up spinning your wheels.

Do not lose the primary focus of this business.

It always comes down to your ability to create digital assets that rank & produce free traffic.

That is the skill you must hone in on the most.

This is what creates long-term, passive income on autopilot.

You don't wanna get trapped into an endless cycle of churning and burning through clients, like most Adwords & paid ad agencies.

I speak from experience of building this business over the last 8 years and getting clients in all types of different ways. The clients that stuck with me the longest have always been the clients where my primary focus was creating an unbeatable digital property fortress that cranked out leads from the high heavens of free Google traffic.
